Early ‘90s. The Campania hinterland. Felicetta, 43, feels marginalized by her family and the social context in which she lives. One day, a Camorra boss asks her for shelter. The man does not seem to be as bad as the reputation that precedes him. He shows care and attention for her. The encounters become more and more frequent. Until he disappears unexpectedly, destroying the illusion of an impossible relationship. He will return but something has changed. He has become suspicious and paranoid. Felicetta will have to come to terms, on the one hand with the echo of a strong feeling for him, on the other hand with the limitations of an oppressive relation that he would like to impose on her.

Author's Biography

Armando Iovino used to work mostly in theater as actor/author with the most interesting directors of the Italian contemporary theatre landscape such as Oscar De Summa in “Amleto a pranzo e a cena”; “Chiusi gli occhi”, “Un Otello Altro”; Massimiliano Civica in “Sogno di una notte di mezza estate”; Alfonso Postiglione in “La riunificazione delle due coree”. Cofounder with Marta Gilmore of the theater company IsolaTeatro with whom they staged L’Isola, Senza Lear, Brucia, Friendly Feuer. In November 2019 they debuted at Teatro India, Rome, with the monologue “The White House”, inspired by his short story.

Director's Biography

Francesco Romano was born in 1992. Graduated at CSC, Italian National Film School in Rome, he also studied visual arts. He completed the training lab Atelier di cinema del reale (Filmap), directed by Leonardo di Costanzo. In 2020 his short film Tropicana won the Best Director Award at Alice Nella Città. His latest work Ambasciatori, was nominated for Best Short Film at the David di Donatello 2023 and selected at several international festivals such as the Festival du Court Métrage De Clermont-Ferrand 2022 and Telluride Film Festival 2022.
